Water Skyball in Europe
▶Summary
Background The project focused on Water Skyball (WSB) which is a new and innovative water sport from Hungary, appropriate to involve physically inactive people to do sport. WSB is an exciting water sport developed in Hungary with unique rules. It aims to develop a wide range of physical and mental abilities and skills. WSB is fun, easy to learn and can be played by a wide audience from the age of 10 to the age of 70. Objectives The project’s main objective was to support the mobility of staff of non-profit sport organisations by the following activities:1. Organising trainings, tryout events and webinars for the volunteers, coaches and staff of the participating organisations about WSB2. Organising 5 grassroot sport events along the TNPMs to promote health enhancingphysical activities and motivate people to do sports3. Overall promoting health enhancing physical activities and WSB as a new and innovative sport Implementation The following activities were implemented:1) Organisation of 5 trainings for the staff members on how to motivate physically inactive people to do sport, the rules and gameplay of WSB and the good practices of sport event organisation2) Organisation of 5 WSB tryout events for the staff3) Organisation of 5 grassroot sport events to promote health enhancing physical activities and motivate physically inactive people to do sport4) Organisation of 5 webinars to provide virtual learning. Achievements 3 handbooks on WSB rules and gameplay, sport event organisation best practices and motivation methods for physically inactive people to do sport; 1 video on WSB rules, 1 excerpt from the official WSB Rulebook; Photos, videos and media appearances on the project’s sport events. 462 participants particpated on the five grassroot sport event.Continuation of this project in two granted ERASMUS+ Sport program (Small scale and Cooperation Partnership). Continuation of partnership.
