Summary

Background EWSE is a collaborative partnership addressing the topic “Encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport” by promoting a European network of women sport events. The action produced 7 Outputs, disseminated through 6 Multiplier Sport Events, involving 5 EU countries and an European based network, impacting directly on women in sport in Europe. All info can be found in the project’s website: https://ewse.assistitaly.eu/en/ Objectives 1) Analyze and map reasons why women sport events and festivals struggle to reach the same economic impact as well as media attention, 2) Promote a quality network for training and mutual support among professional women in sport and young women3) Promote a new narrative for women’s role in sport4) To kick start efforts on environmentally aware and accessible sports events 5) Promote cooperation and networking among European women sports events organizers and stakeholders Implementation Report of analysis provides an overview of Women Sport Events. Partners created a training toolkit for women to organize sports events, tested in 4 countries. The Digital European Map was created valorising an open source map hosted in the project’s webpage. A Chart to organise inclusive, accessible and sustainable sport events was produced with the contributions of organizers, as well as the handbook and the Infographics. Video and booklet presented the involved sports events. Achievements 537 total direct beneficiaries involved in national workshops, mapping, analysis interviews and focus groups, pilot actions, MSEs and trainings in Italy, France, Austria and Ireland. 7 outputs accessible in the website and 5 MSEs with 211 participants. Considering the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions, the project reached a real impact on targeted beneficiaries. 3 sports events were involved in the piloting and a brand-new women sport event is born thanks to the project (IWA HerMoves).
