Rural areas, sport and social inclusión
▶Summary
Background The starting point of this project was to address the needs/problems in rural areas, which are found with disadvantaged groups of young people, the need for sport spaces or sport activities and especially working on young people to empower them to have equal opportunities in small communities through sport, increasing social inclusion among young people doing a common physical activity and improving motivation to do so and showing that sport in rural area has a very good chance. Objectives The general purpose was to encourage in rural areas the sport activities for inclusion, diversity, increased mental health and personal growth, mixing cultures and genders…build a better and productive community.Sport can show that everybody has equal opportunities in a small area. Engage young people and show that sport in rural area has a really good opportunities for all those guys which want to start a new sport lifestyle in a local level to develop their skills, talents. Implementation The project was divide in 3 phases, Preparation, experimental work and awareness campaign. By conducting TMPs in each partner country to see good practices and work on the progress of the project, the project implemented a research phase of good practices, 2 local sport promotion activities in the rural areas of the partners, the creation of the handbook and the inclusion in the digital platform and the awareness raising campaign in each partner's community. Achievements Thanks to our project, we were able to achieve these results: - 28 best practices on rural areas and social inclusion through sport- 465 participants in 2 local phases activities in 5 countries. - 672 participants took part in the awareness campaigns.- 18 sports offered at local activities- 21 sports offered on the awareness campaign- 21 new organisations with which synergies have been developed.- 5 transnational project meetings- 1 webpaltform (https://rasi-project.eu)
