Background WHO recommends 150 min of weekly moderate-intensity physical activity. EU faces high childhood obesity rates, extending to adulthood. European Commission data shows low physical activity levels, emphasizing lifelong engagement. Alarming sedentary trend in adolescents, impacting obesity, especially in socio-economically vulnerable groups. Gender disparities exist, with men exercising more, notably among young adults. Girls aged fifteen often physically inactive. Urgent action needed to promote ph Objectives WISE project promotes active lifestyles in young women (15-24), addressing gender gaps in sports. Aims to encourage physical activity, determine its impact on body composition, and create tailored programs. Priorities include information sharing, dropout reduction, cross-sectoral collaboration, professional training, and nutrition-focused exercise programs. Innovatively, it integrates scientific monitoring for tailored results. Implementation The WISE project underwent three phases: research, experimentation, and data analysis. SPORTLAB led research, resulting in resources like the Best Practice Review and Guidelines. WP3 started the experimentation in March 2022, involving 280 girls across Italy, Spain, and Serbia. They underwent biometric measurements, habit assessments, and received HIIT training and nutritional guidance. The project aims to empower women with healthier lifestyles. Achievements The WISE project successfully empowered 280 girls with knowledge, HIIT training, nutritional guidance. It fostered a sense of community among them. Project partners exchanged expertise, promoting healthier lifestyles. The project's impact extended to the broader community through an Open-day event. Sustainable measures ensure ongoing access to resources. WISE is an innovative step towards improving young women's health and fitness.
