Summary

Background The project New Towns Sport Cities ran from January 2021 to December 2022. The project brought together 4 partners from 4 European new towns : Grand Paris Sud in France, Nissewaard in Netherlands and Public Institute for sports Nova Gorica in Slovenia. The project was set up to develop and promote good practices to improve access to sport for all and to address the challenges of sustainable development and urban planning. Objectives Identify, share and promote the best socio-sport practices in the field of sport and health, sport and equality, sport and sustainability and urban planning in favor of sport practice. The target groups for these practices included audiences far from sport practice, women, people with sedentary lifestyle, elderly, people with disabilities, people from deprived neigboorhoods and remote areas. Implementation The objectives have been realized through creation of a collaborative digital good practices platform and through experiences exchange and study visits during 4 transnational meetings. Achievements -Creation of the digital platform to share and disseminate good practices-Creation of a “Good practices guide”-Organization of 4 transnational meetings involving municipalities and sport stakeholders
