Football as a seed for gender equality

Background Football as a seed for gender equality is a small collaborative partnership sport project with the partnership of Bulgarian Sports Development Association and Innovative Education Center coordinated by ALBAROSA e non solo associazione socio-culturale-onlus between 01.01.2021 -30.06.2022. The project brought together young male and female soccer players from partner countries in a sports competition in which they confronted each other on the value of sports as a tool for social inclusion. Objectives - To educate young people to break down prejudices and value differences by turning them into opportunities for growth and opportunities for friendly competition.- To mitigate the stereotypes transmitted by patriarchal culture.- To break down prejudices about female participation in sports that in the collective imagination are considered male sports.- To focus attention on sport as an expression of the values of team spirit, discipline, solidarity and respect for rules. Implementation To monitor the progress of the project and ensure good project management, online meetings were held. An initial meeting was held to coordinate activities, an intermediate and pre-mobility meeting to organize the sport week, and a final meeting to discuss results. Project managers met in Italy from September 2-7-22. Organizations involved played an role as active participants in the project activities but also in disseminating information about the project and disseminating its results.
