โ–ถSummary

Background Inactivity levels are increasing, and the number of sports volunteers is declining in Europe. The 'SCULT Point: Easy Access to Sports through Technology' was an innovative and socially engaging technology-based initiative addressing both of these challenges. The idea behind the SCULT Point project was to create a technology platform connecting sports instructors and wellness seekers in a freely chosen location, time, sport discipline, and level. Objectives The main objective of the SCULT Point initiative was to increase the access of people to social and guided outdoor exercise, and to democratise coaching and sport mentoring by making it independent of a particular sports club or location in Europe. This is done through a creative matchmaking solution, the SCULT Points, which are virtual bulletin boards related to specific geographic locations where people start or would like to start outdoor training. Implementation The project was implemented in partnership with six EU countries: Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Finland, and Estonia. The project comprised the design, development, and implementation of the SCULT Point Platform as a scalable technological toolset; the implementation of a pilot project in Estonia; international market research in partner countries; development of a Growth Strategy for the platform; execution of digital media campaigns; and organization of inspiration events. Achievements 'SCULT Point' was an innovative project promoting sports and physical activity in a scalable manner. As a result, the SCULT.app platform was developed, connecting instructors and wellness seekers through its Client and Partner apps (Android & iOS). Piloted in Estonia with 300 instructors, 3,000 users and 500 training sessions, an international Growth Strategy was also developed. Digital media campaigns reached 100,000 and inspiration events attracted 304 people, see https://www.scult.app/.
