Advance Badminton Coaching Education through the development of a European Badminton Coaching Framework

Background The development of an Advanced Badminton Coaching Education at a European level stems from a need and an identified gap in badminton coaching. ADVANCE addresses the topic of the promotion of education in and through sport with a special focus on skills development, as well as support the implementation of the EU guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes. It seeks to develop and improve badminton coaching education at European level. Objectives ADVANCE aims to develop the education and skills development of badminton coaches at a European level as well as facilitate its access. Its goals are also to facilitate and promote dual careers in badminton for coaches and players; to assist badminton associations from low level and grassroots to increase the level of badminton coaching; to provide a skills development pathway for badminton coaches via the framework & to facilitate the integration of a European badminton coaching framework. Implementation With the above objectives in mind, the project has implemented the following outputs:IO1. ADVANCE Badminton Coaching Coaching Education - Training Needs Analysis. IO2. ADVANCE European Badminton Coaching Framework.IO3. ADVANCE Badminton Coaching Education - The Instructor´s Guide.IO4. ADVANCE Education Platform (online) focuses on supporting the delivery of ADVANCE Badminton Coaching Education through blended learning and providing coacing knowledge to the badminton coaching community. Achievements ADVANCE has developed a new badminton coaching education framework in Europe based on the outcomes of the training needs analysis and the integration of EU policies in the field of sport. It has also implemented a Pilot Testing Initiative on badminton coaches to be able to review and validate the project’s deliverables, which has made possible to ensure the project’s sustainability and effectiveness at European level.
